Lee Anne White photographs natural, designed, built and cultural environments, with an emphasis on landscape architecture and garden design. Based in the Atlanta area, White travels extensively -- photographing residential, commercial and historic landscapes for leading publishers, landscape architects and garden designers. She shoots primarily digital, but can also handle medium-format and large-format film assignments.
Editorial Assignments
With more than 60 magazine feature stories and 20 covers to her credit, White's work has appeared in Garden Design, Fine Gardening, Better Homes and Gardens, Traditional Home, Country Living, Country Living Gardener, AQUA Magazine, Southern Home, Atlanta Magazine's Home, Woman's Day and other publications.
Her photographs have been featured in dozens of landscape design, home design and gardening books. She photographed Taunton's Front Yard Idea Book, and was a major contributing photographer for the Pool Idea Book, Backyard Idea Book, Outdoor Living Idea Book, Stonescaping Idea Book and Fine Gardening Design Guides.
Prior to pursuing photography on a full-time basis, White served as the editor of Fine Gardening magazine and edited or authored 11 books on landscape design -- so she has a strong understanding of the editorial process. She earned a B.A. degree from Brenau University in journalism, broadcasting and commercial art, currently serves on the University's Board of Advisors for both the Department of Mass Communications and the Fine Art Galleries, and is the recipient of several Quill & Trowel Awards from the Garden Writers Association.
Commercial Photography
In addition to her editorial work, White works closely with residential and commercial landscape architects, landscape designers, garden designers, landscape contractors, public gardens and pool builders to provide photographs for portfolios, brochures, advertising, websites, public relations activities, awards competitions and office décor. She is also available for architectural and interior photography, as well as archival 4x5 black-and-white photography for HABS/HALS documentation.
